The ASEAN Investment Challenge is an annual investment competition organized by CGS International. This competition aims to enhance students’ understanding of sustainable investment while contributing to the development of a robust stock market in the future. With the theme “Your Galaxy, Your Way!”, the competition lasts for about four months, from August to December 2024.
This competition is one of the leading investment challenges in Southeast Asia, focusing on designing optimal investment strategies to maximize returns amidst economic uncertainty. Each participant is required to build an efficient equity portfolio that outperforms the Composite Index of the IHSG, complies with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria, maintains a high safety margin, and identifies opportunities in companies undergoing corporate actions such as mergers or acquisitions.
In this competition, students from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UGM had the chance to win and represent Indonesia in the regional competition in Malaysia scheduled for January 2025.
