Tangerang, February 18, 2023 – The iCare Student Activity Unit together with the Dhammamitta Buddhist Spiritual Activity Unit of Universitas Bunda Mulia Kampus Serpong held a visit to a children’s cancer home at the Rumah Singgah Yayasan RC Badak, Jalan Jendral Ahmad Yani, Kota Tangerang. The visit was held to commemorate World Cancer Day in February and to increase awareness and empathy towards others.
In addition to the visit, iCare and KMB Dhammamitta also became partners in the World Cancer Day event organized by the RC Badak Foundation, where iCare and KMB Dhammamitta coordinated the children’s creative competition activities. The visit and creative competition activities included coloring contests, mosaic competitions using green beans, ice cream stick creations, and newspaper creations. After the competitions were over, the organizers announced the winners and awarded prizes to each winner of each competition. Although the weather was initially unfavorable, the participating children were still enthusiastic to take part in the activities.
After the competitions, the children played together with the organizers and watched the performances of clowns to entertain them. The event ended with the distribution of gifts, food, and a group photo.
