Jakarta, March 1, 2025 – Sotthi Hotu, Namo Buddhaya, Namo Amitofo. The Buddhist Religious Activity Unit (UKR) KMB Dhammamitta of Universitas Bunda Mulia joyfully celebrated Magha Puja Day on Saturday, March 1, 2025. The event carried the theme “Virtue and Loving-Kindness as the Path to True Happiness” and took place at The UBM Seminar Room, 7th Floor, Universitas Bunda Mulia, Ancol Campus.
This Magha Puja celebration was attended by active students of Universitas Bunda Mulia, Dhammaworkers, alumni of KMB Dhammamitta, and invited guests from other KMB organizations. The chosen theme serves as a reminder for Buddhists of the importance of cultivating virtue and spreading loving-kindness in daily life as a tangible manifestation of the Dhamma teachings. Virtue encompasses good deeds, honesty, and respect for all living beings, while loving-kindness represents unconditional love and empathy toward others, regardless of differences. By practicing virtue and loving-kindness, Buddhists are encouraged to create a more harmonious and peaceful life, starting with themselves.
The event began with participant registration before entering the venue. The official proceedings commenced with the singing of Indonesia Raya and Mars KMB Dhammamitta, followed by a report from the Chief Organizer, Ferlita Valencya, and a welcome speech from the President of KMB Dhammamitta, Robin Viery. Afterward, participants took part in a prayer session, which was followed by a Dhammatalk session with Venerable Bhikkhu Abhipuñño Thera and Venerable Bhikkhu Abhirato as the keynote speakers.
During the Dhammatalk session, participants were given the opportunity to ask questions, with the best question receiving a special prize from the organizers. Before the celebration concluded, the organizing committee presented a special performance. Additionally, participants were invited to write down their wishes and place them in a designated area as a symbolic gesture of goodwill and self-reflection.
With the successful organization of this Magha Puja celebration, we hope that this event serves as a field of merit for everyone involved. Finally, we extend our gratitude for the support and cooperation of all parties who contributed to making this event run smoothly and successfully. Sabbe Satta Bhavantu Sukhitatta. May all beings be happy. Sadhu… Sadhu… Sadhu…Sotthi Hotu, Namo Buddhaya, Namo Amitofo.
