On Thursday, May 2, 2024, The UBM Master Kitchen lt.2 and The UBM Plaza, Universitas Bunda Mulia Ancol Campus, bore witness to the success of two significant culinary events, namely “Managing Your Kitchen Appliances with OXONE Through Cooking” and “OXONE Kitchen Mastery Challenge: Modern Fusion Indonesian Cuisine”.
Attended by students of the Hospitality & Tourism program in their second semester and Food and Beverage majors in their fourth semester, the events aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in kitchen appliance management and broaden creativity in the culinary realm.
The keynote session, led by Chef Degan Septoadji, guided participants through understanding various essential aspects of kitchen appliance management, with a focus on OXONE products. Assessment results indicated that the material delivered garnered excellent responses, with an average rating of 86.7% for content and implementation. However, there was a note to improve punctuality in organizing similar events in the future.
Meanwhile, the main challenge was the cooking competition themed “Modern Fusion Indonesian Cuisine”, where participants were tasked with innovatively using chicken protein with a modern twist and Indonesian flavors. The competition, held at The UBM Plaza, Ancol Campus, showcased participants’ creativity and culinary skills. As a result, the winners were selected based on the accuracy of their creations and their skills in creating captivating dishes.
With Felix Agustian & Davin Himawan as the first-place winners, Jasmine Angelica Humapi & Marcel Christian Law as the second-place winners, and Carine Chandra & Madeline Cia as the third-place winners, the competition highlighted young talents in the culinary field.
The success and enthusiasm of participants towards these two events underscore the importance of platforms like these in inspiring and supporting the next generation in the culinary industry. It is hoped that this success will serve as a momentum for more similar events in the future, continuing to carve new achievements in the Indonesian culinary world.
