The Hospitality & Tourism Student Association (HMP) of Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) Serpong successfully conducted a study visit with the Hospitality Management Student Association (HMPP) and the Tourism Student Association (HMPAR) of Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) on Saturday, March 22, 2025. This event, held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM WIB, aimed to strengthen inter-organizational relationships and exchange insights on organizational management and the Hospitality & Tourism study program.
Upon arrival at UPH, HMP HOSPAR UBM was warmly welcomed by HMPP and HMPAR UPH. After enjoying the welcoming snacks, the event commenced with an opening prayer led by a representative from HMPP, followed by an introduction session of HMPP and HMPAR members, hosted by Laurencia Haryanto, Chairperson of HMPP, and Eun Beyul Shin, Chairperson of HMPAR. During this session, both leaders explained the structure of their divisions and the work programs that had been carried out or were planned. Following this, Felicia Tania Chen, Chairperson of HMP Hospar UBM Serpong, along with the division heads, introduced the organizational structure of HMP Hospar, the responsibilities of each division, and the work programs implemented or in progress. This session also included an interactive discussion where HMPP and HMPAR members were given the opportunity to ask questions about organizational management.
The event continued with a 30-minute division-based discussion session. Each division of HMP Hospar UBM had the opportunity to exchange experiences and organizational management strategies with their respective counterparts from HMPP and HMPAR UPH. Through this discussion, participants shared insights, challenges, and innovative ideas for managing student organizations and work programs in the hospitality and tourism fields. This session concluded with a group photo as a symbol of collaboration and unity. Following this, HMPP UPH invited HMP Hospar UBM on a campus tour to introduce various academic facilities and practical laboratories related to the Hospitality & Tourism study program. Participants visited the kitchen lab, pastry lab, front-office lab, café, travel lab, and hotel rooms managed by UPH.
The event concluded with the presentation of a plaque as a token of appreciation to Ms. Julita, the faculty advisor of HMPP UPH, handed over by Ms. Roozana Maria Ritonga, faculty advisor of HMP HOSPAR UBM Serpong. The study visit ended with a meal-sharing session provided by HMPP UPH. Through this event, it is hoped that stronger synergy and collaboration will be fostered among hospitality and tourism students from both universities, along with an enhanced understanding of student organization management in the Hospitality & Tourism field.
