On Tuesday, October 08, 2024, 5th Semester Hospitality and Tourism Study Program students with Entertainment and Leisure Management Specialization held a Performance and Talkshow event with the theme “CREATIVE ART and CULTURE FESTIVAL”. This event was held offline at Lecture Hall lt.5 Serpong Campus. This event was attended by students of the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program, other Study Programs and also external participants are welcome to register and participate in this event to get to know more about cultural UKM at Bunda Mulia University.
This activity was held with the aim of adding insight and knowledge to participants regarding student activity units related to arts and culture. This activity not only provides deeper knowledge about arts and culture, but also encourages participants to be more involved and actively participate in preserving culture through student activity units (UKM). Through inspiring performances and discussions, students are expected to understand the importance of arts and culture as part of the nation’s identity, as well as how SMEs at Bunda Mulia University play an important role in developing creativity and preserving culture among students.
This activity was hosted by the MC of the event, Klarissa Lee Arief and also Metha who are students from the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program Semester 5 Entertainment and Leisure Management Specialization. At the opening, singing the Indonesia Raya song led by the conductor, Vivian Lo, who is also a student of the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program Semester 5 Entertainment and Leisure Management specialization. Then continued with 1 performance by the Student Activity Unit, namely Biefindc, Traditional Dance, and The Vou. Then continued with the Talkshow session.
The talk show session was hosted by the moderator, Janice Aveline Michaela, a student from the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program Semester 5 Specialization in Entertainment and Leisure Management. Next, the moderator introduced the speakers from each UKM chairman, namely, Michelle Gennady – Chairperson of UKM Biefindc, Shandy Raqiqa Putri – Chairperson of UKM Traditional Dance, Axel Vareanno Stefanus – Chairperson of UKM Theater, and Arsina – Chairperson of UKM The Vou. After that, each Chairperson of UKM described briefly about UKM and interesting experiences during their time as Chairperson of UKM, followed by the moderator conducting a question and answer session with the speakers.
The event continued with a talk show session that discussed interesting experiences during his time as Chair of UKM, the biggest challenges experienced during his tenure as Chair of UKM, and how the speakers did problem solving to overcome these challenges. Then continued with questions for each Chairperson of UKM.
The Chairperson of Traditional Dance UKM was asked about what strategies would be applied to introduce Indonesian culture more deeply through traditional dance performances, then the Chairperson of Biefindc UKM was asked about strategies that can be done in coordinating each member so that the energy between dancers remains strong and consistent in their performances. After that, questions for the Head of UKM The VOU related to strategies in maintaining cultural values in every music performance performed by The Vou without shifting cultural values. Ended with a question for the Chairperson of UKM Biems Theater regarding the challenges in raising stories related to culture, especially in dealing with audiences that are different from the story in general. The talk show session was closed with the speakers’ hopes for the development of arts and culture on the campus of Bunda Mulia University in the future.
Next entered the QnA session, where participants will be given the opportunity to ask questions about the topic being discussed to the Chairperson of UKM, for example, the challenges that must be faced by participants if they join UKM such as how to manage time well. After the QnA session, the activity continued with the Token of Appreciation given by Ms. Veronica, S.E., M.Par to the Chairperson of UKM and Moderator, followed by performances 2 by The VOU, Traditional Dance, Biefindc, and Biems Theater, along with a few words from the Event Chairperson, Callysta Wibawa. Furthermore ended with a documentation session and event attendance.
