Jakarta, February 19, 2025 – The Information Systems Study Program at Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) successfully organized a seminar themed “Securing IoT Ecosystems: AI-Based Approaches to Threat Detection and Prevention” on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the Lecture Hall. The event featured Dendi Sunardi, M.Kom., as the main speaker and was attended by 70 students from the Ancol campus, 129 students from the Serpong campus, and 19 committee members.
The seminar discussed the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing the security of Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems, which are increasingly vulnerable to cyber threats. In addition to highlighting the key challenges related to data security and privacy on IoT devices, the seminar also introduced AI-based solutions for real-time threat detection. The event aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of IoT security risks and to encourage collaboration among practitioners, academics, and students in developing more effective security solutions.
Based on the survey results, participants gave an average rating above 3 for all aspects, including the usefulness of the material (3.47), the relevance of the material (3.47), and the speaker’s mastery of the material (3.52). However, there were some suggestions for improvement, particularly regarding the quality of media and the execution process, which received lower scores of 3.39 and 3.26, respectively. Some of the participants’ suggestions included a deeper discussion on AI, cryptocurrency, cybersecurity, and coding, as well as inviting practitioners from Engineering Indonesia. UBM is committed to continuously enhancing the quality of its seminars by taking these suggestions into account to provide a better learning experience for students.
