*Jakarta, July 13, 2024* — The highly anticipated final round of “The Young Chef Competition” took place today, showcasing the culinary skills of emerging chefs from various educational institutions and industry establishments. The event, organized by Elle & Vire by PT Savecia Indonesia, was held on Thursday, July 13, 2024. Participants faced an intense challenge to create two pieces of marble cake and three plated desserts within a tight three-hour timeframe.
Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) was represented by Jessica Olive Limanto, a talented student who demonstrated impressive skills and creativity. The competition required participants to complete their desserts and cakes within the first two hours, followed by an hour dedicated to finishing touches, plating, and waiting for the judges’ evaluation.
Jessica Olive Limanto competed against 11 other finalists from renowned culinary schools and institutions, including APCA Indonesia, SMK 57, IPB International Bali, Maya Sanur Resort and Spa, Poltekpar NHI, Crio Restaurant, PIB, Elisabeth International Hotel and Business School, Pradita University, and Akpar NHI. This diverse group included nine representatives from academia, one from a restaurant, and one from a hotel.
Despite a strong performance, Jessica Olive Limanto did not secure a top spot this year. The first place was awarded to APCA Indonesia, followed by Crio Restaurant in second place, and Maya Sanur Resort and Spa, Bali, in third. This year marks another step in the journey for UBM’s S1 Hospitality program as they continue to strive for excellence in culinary arts.
Jessica Olive Limanto was accompanied and guided by Mr. Yudhiet Fajar Dewantara, a dedicated faculty member, who provided valuable support and mentorship throughout the competition.
UBM congratulates all the participants and winners of “The Young Chef Competition” and remains committed to nurturing the culinary talents of its students, preparing them for future successes in the competitive culinary industry.
