On June 24-25, 2024, BPPTIK of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo) in Bekasi hosted a digital marketing training session for the tourism sector, attended by a lecturer from Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM), Yudhiet Fajar Dewantara, S.Pd., M.Par. The event aimed to enhance digital marketing skills for tourism industry professionals.
The training focused on leveraging digital tools, software, and social media to improve prospective tourists’ experiences. Covering topics on artificial intelligence (AI) utilization, participants were introduced to various digital marketing techniques, including Chatbot development, WhatsApp Marketing, Email Marketing, and Canva for Business.
During the two-day training, participants successfully developed key tourism marketing skills. They learned to use WhatsApp and email for marketing, create basic chatbots for customer service, and utilize tools like Canva, WhatsApp Business, and email marketing platforms to effectively engage potential tourists. By the end of the session, participants had crafted marketing templates applicable to both WhatsApp and email.
This training is expected to help tourism entrepreneurs remain competitive in the global market by leveraging digital technology to reach broader and more diverse target audiences. The event demonstrated that the integration of digital technology and AI can be an effective strategy for developing the tourism business in the modern era.
