Bandung, March 13, 2025 – Several lecturers from Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) participated in the Workshop on Mapping Digital Gastronomic Tourism Travel Patterns, organized by the Master’s Program in Tourism, Graduate School, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Bandung. The event, held at the Auditorium, 5th Floor, UPI Graduate School, aimed to provide insights and skills related to mapping gastronomic tourism travel patterns using digital technology. One of the lecturers who attended the workshop was Sir Yudhiet Fajar Dewantara, S.Pd., M.Par., a lecturer specializing in Culinary Art and Innovation.
The workshop featured two expert speakers: Mrs. Dewi Turgarini, a tourism expert and lecturer at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), and Fahmi Muhammad Rizki, a researcher and practitioner in digital tourism. During her session, Mrs. Dewi Turgarini discussed strategies for developing digital-based gastronomic tourism, highlighting how mapping travel patterns can assist in culinary destination planning and enhance gastronomic tourism appeal through technology-based marketing strategies. Meanwhile, Fahmi Muhammad Rizki presented the implementation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in analyzing gastronomic tourism travel, explaining how this technology can be used to visualize and analyze tourists’ travel patterns in search of unique culinary experiences.
The participation of Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) lecturers in this workshop is expected to enhance their understanding of digital-based tourism and provide new insights that can be applied in teaching, research, and community service activities. By utilizing digital technology in mapping gastronomic tourism travel patterns, academics can contribute to the development of tourism information systems, the optimization of gastronomic tourism marketing strategies, and innovation in research in this field.
This workshop also served as a platform for discussion and collaboration between academics and practitioners to advance research and the implementation of digital technology in gastronomic tourism. Moving forward, the outcomes of this event are expected to make a significant contribution to data-driven tourism innovation, particularly in mapping and analyzing gastronomic tourism travel patterns in Indonesia.
