Jakarta, Indonesia – April 23, 2025 – Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) recently hosted an Indonesian Cultural Introduction for exchange students from Guangxi Normal University on March 22, 2025, fostering cross-cultural understanding and appreciation. The initiative, spearheaded by UBM’s International Relations Office, provided the students with a hands-on experience of Indonesia’s rich heritage.
Huang Qiuyang, Huang Wenjing, Li Linqing, and Xu Shucai, all students from the Mandarin Language Program at Guangxi Normal University, began their cultural journey with a visit to the National Museum in Jakarta. Guided by Dave Antoro, a Hospitality and Tourism student from UBM, and representatives from the International Relations Office, the students explored historical artifacts and cultural exhibits, gaining valuable insights into Indonesian history and traditions.
Following their museum visit, the students were treated to a delightful culinary experience at a traditional restaurant in Central Jakarta, where they savored authentic Indonesian cuisine. The Indonesian Cultural Introduction continued back at UBM, where the exchange students were introduced to The Voice of UBM (VOU), one of the university’s student activity units. Members of VOU enthusiastically taught the visiting students popular Indonesian folk songs and traditional games, fostering interaction and cultural exchange.
The day culminated in a friendly gathering where the exchange students, VOU members, and the International Relations team shared traditional Indonesian cakes and snacks, further strengthening the bonds of friendship and cultural understanding. This engaging program underscores Universitas Bunda Mulia’s commitment to providing its international students with a comprehensive and memorable cultural experience
