Jakarta, March 4, 2025 – The Student Activity Unit (UKM) iCare at Universitas Bunda Mulia, Ancol Campus, successfully held the Advanced First Aid Training with the theme “Life Savers in Action”. This activity aimed to enhance the preparedness of iCare members in dealing with complex emergency situations and deepen their understanding and skills in providing advanced first aid. This training is a continuation of previous basic training sessions and focuses on handling more serious emergency conditions.
Through this training, iCare members are expected to accurately understand advanced first aid procedures, improve their readiness to face various emergency situations, and expand their knowledge regarding the use of medications in first aid. It is also hoped that the acquired skills can be applied not only within the campus environment but also in society. The training was held on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM WIB, at The UBM Seminar Room (TUSR), 7th Floor, Universitas Bunda Mulia, Ancol Campus. All iCare members participated in this training as part of their efforts to enhance their capabilities in health and first aid.
The event commenced with an opening by the Master of Ceremony (MC), followed by welcoming remarks from representatives of the Student Affairs Division (BKM) and the event chairperson. Subsequently, the training session was presented by health experts, namely Dr. Stevany, MARS, and Dr. Gokmalina Clementin Odile from Pademangan District Health Center. The topics covered included Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques for handling various emergency situations such as cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, sudden fainting, airway obstruction (choking, asthma attacks), hypothermia, wounds and bleeding, as well as bone and joint injuries.
In addition to the presentation session, the training also included a simulation session where participants had the opportunity to practice Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques firsthand. Several participants were invited to come forward and demonstrate techniques such as chest compressions, recovery positions, and first aid for asthma symptoms. This simulation aimed to ensure that participants not only understand the theory but also have the ability to apply it in real-life situations. Thus, iCare members are expected to become life savers who are prepared to face various emergency conditions in the future.
As a closing activity, the event concluded with a group photo session and the presentation of certificates from iCare to Dr. Stevany, MARS, and Dr. Gokmalina Clementin Odile as a token of appreciation for their contributions as resource persons in this training. UKM iCare also extended their gratitude to all parties who supported the successful implementation of this event, including Pademangan District Health Center, BKM, iCare Advisors, and the entire Advanced First Aid Training committee. This event is expected to be the first step in raising awareness and enhancing skills in the health sector, as well as providing benefits to the campus environment and the wider community.
