Tangerang, April 20, 2025 – Biefindc Serpong Campus successfully held the “Waack Your Way” Workshop on Saturday, April 19, 2025. The entire Biefindc executive board and organizing committee prepared this event for Biefindc members as well as both internal and external university students. The workshop took place at The UBM Sport Hall, UBM Tower. This event stood out by focusing on a popular dance art and technique known as Waacking.
The event began with an opening speech by the workshop chairperson, Michelle Cathlyn. This workshop featured a professional Waacking instructor, Ms. Dian Angeline Saputra. It started with a brief explanation of the differences between Hip-Hop dance and Waacking, followed by an overview of Waacking’s history. Originating from America in the 1970s, Waacking is known for its fast, expressive, and stylish movements. Participants observed Ms. Dian demonstrating Waacking techniques, and afterward, enthusiastically joined in to practice the movements themselves.
Participants were highly enthusiastic about learning this new dance style, gaining a unique experience that served as a powerful medium for expressing personal identity and emotion. They were also guided to develop confidence and build an emotional connection with the music.
After practicing the techniques and choreography taught by the instructor, participants were invited to showcase what they had learned. They demonstrated impressive ability in memorizing and performing the given choreography.
To conclude the event, a group photo and video were taken. Participants were then asked to complete final attendance as proof of their full participation in the workshop from beginning to end.
Through this event, we hope to inspire participants not only to learn dance moves, but also to freely and authentically express themselves. This workshop reflects Biefindc’s commitment to fostering a creative, inclusive, and inspiring space. We hope it continues to bring value to both participants and the organizing committee. Express yourself and show that you can!
