Tegal, Indonesia – On September 24, 2024, Supina M.Par., M.M., Ph.D., CHE, a lecturer from Bunda Mulia University (UBM), was invited to be a speaker at a Community Service workshop entitled “How to Be a Hotelier” at the Harapan Bersama Polytechnic, Tegal. This activity was attended by 41 students from the Hospitality and Tourism study program, which aimed to provide practical insights into the world of the hotel industry.
In this session, Supina shared in-depth knowledge about the role of a hotelier, the skills needed, and the challenges and opportunities that exist in the hotel industry. The workshop focused on developing managerial skills, effective customer service, and strengthening soft skills that are very much needed in the world of work.
“I feel very honored to be invited to speak at the Harapan Bersama Polytechnic with other great speakers to meet future hotelier professionals,” said Supina. “The modern campus facilities and the enthusiasm of the students are very inspiring. I can feel how passionate they are about the world of hotel education.”
This activity is also equipped with interactive discussion sessions, role play, and Q&A, which allow students to interact directly with experienced practitioners. In addition to providing a deeper understanding of hotel management, this activity also motivates students to pursue a career in this industry. This workshop is proof of UBM’s commitment to serving the community.
