Jakarta, 11 December 2024 – The students of the Entertainment & Leisure Management 2022 program, Hospitality and Tourism Department at Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM), recently organized an Overland Tour to explore two culturally rich cities, Cirebon and Pekalongan. This activity aimed to provide participants with direct experiences in Indonesian culture, history, and natural beauty, while also introducing them to the world of tourism and travel management.
The tour began at 6:00 AM, with participants gathering at the UBM Ancol campus. After a briefing and a prayer session, the journey to Cirebon commenced. After about 3.5 hours of travel, the group arrived at the Keraton Kasepuhan Cirebon at 9:30 AM. Here, participants enjoyed a tour while learning about the history and culture of the Keraton, a centuries-old royal palace.
At 11:00 AM, the group continued their journey to Kampung Batik Trusmi, where they enjoyed lunch amidst the atmosphere of this renowned batik village. Participants also had the opportunity to interact with batik artisans and learn about the traditional process of batik making, which is a treasured cultural heritage of Indonesia.
After lunch, the group proceeded to visit Gua Sunyaragi at 3:00 PM. In this historic site, participants gained deeper insights into its historical significance and cultural value. The journey continued to Pekalongan, where the group arrived at Indi Hotel at 5:50 PM for check-in and rest. Dinner was served individually starting at 7:00 PM.
On the second day, activities began with check-out from the hotel at 8:00 AM, followed by a visit to Pantai Pasir Kencana. The group enjoyed a tour of the beach until 10:00 AM before proceeding to the Pekalongan Batik Museum. At the museum, participants learned in-depth about the history of Pekalongan batik from 10:20 AM to 11:50 AM.
Lunch was provided individually at 11:50 AM before continuing on to visit Roemah Boelmes, where participants experienced cultural tourism. The event concluded with a briefing and prayer session at 2:05 PM before the group returned to Jakarta, with an estimated arrival time depending on traffic conditions.
This Overland Tour provided a memorable experience for participants, offering valuable insights into Indonesia’s diverse cultural heritage, historical sites, and natural beauty.
