Jakarta, March 21st, 2025 – The Accounting Study Program with the Accounting Student Association of Bunda Mulia University successfully held a seminar entitled “Dare to Speak, Dare to Action: Build Your Confidence by Enhancing the Public Speaking Skills“ on Friday, March 21st, 2025. This event took place at The UBM Seminar Room (TUSR) 7th Floor, Bunda Mulia University, Ancol Campus, from 1-4 PM with the number of participants and the committee reaching 50 people.
This seminar was packaged differently by collaborating with Kawan Lama Group, presenting a resource person Mr. Antonius Wiwit Marista, who currently serves as Senior Kawan Lama Academy Manager at Kawan Lama Group. Through this seminar, participants are equipped with public speaking skills, especially in the industrial world, to increase confidence and effective communication skills.
The series of events began by Jade Gabriel as the Master of Ceremony by singing the songs Indonesia Raya and Mars UBM, which was then continued with remarks by Mrs. Theresia Olivia, S.E., M.Ak., as the supervisor of the Accounting Student Association. After that, the company profile introduction session was presented by Venessa as a representative of Kawan Lama Group, who provided insight into the company.
In the main session, Mr. Antonius Wiwit Marista delivered material on public speaking in the industrial world, providing in-depth insights into effective speaking techniques and how to build confidence when speaking in front of an audience. One of the interesting parts of this seminar was the mini case study with the theme of accounting, where participants were divided into five large groups and each speaker practiced public speaking skills directly in front of other participants. This session provides practical experience that is very useful for participants in dealing with real situations in the world of work.
After the main session, the event continued with a question and answer session, where participants actively discussed and asked questions directly to the speakers about challenges and strategies in improving public speaking skills.
As a form of appreciation, the presentation of tokens of appreciation to the resource persons was carried out by Mrs. Theresia Olivia, S.E., M.Ak. The event then ended with a group photo as a documentation of the activity as well as the closing of the seminar.
By holding this seminar, it is hoped that it will provide benefits for Accounting students of Universitas Bunda Mulia Ancol Campus in honing their communication skills, so that they are better prepared to face challenges in the industrial world. The Accounting Student Association continues to be committed to providing educational programs that can help students develop their academic and professional potential.
