Jakarta, May 3, 2024 – The Bachelor Program in Hospitality and Tourism, University Maju Bersama (UBM), once again achieved outstanding achievements in the culinary competition arena. On Thursday, May 2, 2024, UBM students, Angela Graziela (19210221) and Jessica Olive Limanto (19220066) from semesters 8 and 4, successfully attracted attention in the External Competition for Modern Market Snack Creation with the theme “Preserving the Culinary Culture of the Archipelago”.
The event, held at the Bidakara Hotel, South Jakarta, started at 07.00 and lasted until completion. In this competition, UBM sent one team consisting of two students. They were accompanied by a supervising lecturer, Mr. Yudhiet Fajar Dewantara.
The competition lasted for two hours, where during the first hour, students carried out the finishing and plating process, and the next hour was for display and waiting for the judges’ assessment. They competed with participants from various backgrounds, including academics and the DPD APJI (Regional Representatives of APJI). The total number of academic participants was 15 teams.
With high skills and dedication, UBM students recorded the highest score of 93 points, making them the first winners in this category. Followed by SMK Pariwisata Telkom Bandung as the second winner with a score of 87, and the third winner was SMK 57 Jakarta with a score of 83.
This achievement marks UBM’s commitment to producing competent young generations who are capable of achieving at the national level. Through this competition, students not only demonstrate outstanding culinary skills but also uphold the values of togetherness, teamwork, and love for the culinary heritage of the Archipelago.
Thus, UBM congratulates Angela Graziela and Jessica Olive Limanto on their outstanding achievements. May this success be a motivation for other students to continue to carve out achievements and inspire future generations in preserving Indonesian culinary culture.
