On January 13, 2025, a public lecture event was held with the theme “The Taste of Australia: Explore National Food and Culinary Delights”. Precisely, this event was located at The UBM Master Kitchen, 10th floor, UBM tower, Serpong Campus. This event was organized by the Hospitality and Tourism Study Program by inviting speakers who are experts in their fields and are very well known in the industry, namely Chef Alex Ensor. Chef Alex Ensor is the co-owner of one of the up-and-coming restaurants in Senopati, Blujam Kitchen. Not only that, Chef Alex Ensor is also the owner of a shop that sells very unique and delicious pies, called Wicked Pies which are located in certain areas.
This event was aimed at 4th semester students of the Serpong campus Hospitality and Tourism Study Program with a specialization in Culinary Arts and Innovation. The purpose of this public lecture event is to increase knowledge of authentic dishes originating from Australia, increase information and food processing on typical Australian dishes to students and students, and increase knowledge and practice to students how to prepare and process a typical dish from Australia.
The event was opened with opening remarks from Mr. I Gusti Agung Musa Budidharma, S.E., M.Acc. Fin., PhD as Head of Academic I. The event was followed by an introduction and reading of the speaker’s profile by the MC, Elzishilla Aline Yovanca. The core of this event was a Cooking demo presented by Chef Alex Ensor and accompanied by Ms. Roozana Maria Ritonga B.B.A., PGD., M.Par as the moderator for this event. Chef Alex Ensor gave Cooking Demo for Grilled Salmon Fillet and Mince Beef Cheese Pie which is one of the best seller pies in Chef Alex Ensor’s store, Wicked Pies. During the event Chef Alex Ensor gave a very valuable presentation and the participants had the opportunity to ask questions directly to Chef Alex Ensor
This public lecture event ended by giving a Token of Appreciation certificate to Chef Alex Ensor given by Ms. Andari Tirtadidjaja, SST.Par., M.Tr.Par., as well as a documentation session with all participants who attended the event. The Hospitality and Tourism Study Program hopes that the participants will feel the deep benefits of the implementation of this public lecture event with the theme “The Taste of Australia: Explore National Food and Culinary Delights”.
